Instrument Voicing Pre-Amp (IVP) + Demonic Percolator
This is the final ever build, it will be discontinued, and no, I will not separate them.
It includes a custom, point to point, demonic percolator, based on Albini Spec, with further mods. This is your first, last and only chance to buy a Gehirn Enterprises pedal with point to point wiring
IVP is based on the excellent PCBs from AionFX here: https://aionfx.com/project/ivp-preamp/
Great attention to detail has been achieved by AionFX, to get these as authentic as possible, while also fixing a few design flaws and dealing with obsolete parts. Credit must go to them for their fantastic design work on this project.
Built and modified by Gehirn Enterprises.
Features:
Custom Faceplate
Pre Voice Effects Loop
Toggle Switch to bridge clean and drive channels (the only version that offers this mod as far as I'm aware)
Immaculate wiring (that fucking takes forever)
These units sound stunning, and with 2x channels (plus bridging), 2x EQ stages, and opamp/transistor/transformer based saturation, they have some really extreme tone shaping abilities at their disposal. It's pretty easy to get them to drone/feedback if that's what you're after too. It also does a really authentic tube overdrive.
They boost your 9V pedal power supply up to +/- 15V and the amount of volume and bass they can pump out is INSANE. Get ready to hear your amp ROAR and start vibrating things of their shelves. Two switches are provided to set the input and output ranges, and a clip indicator LED gives you visual feedback of your signal level.
The original rack units are used by Bob Weir and Steve Albini (RIP) for a good reason. They are also very popular with Sludge/Doom musicians too. Now you can get one that fit's on your pedalboard.
Highly detailed specifications can be found here in the AionFX build document.
The Demonic Percolator is based on the Harmonic Percolator.
This version uses two hand selected transistors.
It also has a clipping mode switch with three options.
1. Assymetrical Germanium Diodes (D9E + 4k7 resistor)
2. No Clipping
3. Quad 1N914 silicon diodes in series (2x fwd, 2x rev)
I've used my last Perco PCBs, and last trapezoidal enclosure.
I still had one faceplate left, so this is the last one ever!!
It's built point to point and I'm never building motherfucking point to point again.
This page will disappear once it has sold.
