New and improved version of the Bean Jelly !!! Here's whats new:
Separate 1V/Oct inputs for each VCO, that don't break the normalled CV/FM input.
(TBH - this is huge. It is a total game changer)
Filter redesign with Eurorack level outputs instead of line level.
Inverted rungler output.
(this allows you to close the filter on high notes = bass lines)
Ping filter audio input with rungler is now a switch instead of a jumper.
Design converted to surface mount technology.
Power supply redesign with less startup issues, reversed power cable protection, and over voltage protection.
You still get all of the things from the original Bean Jelly module too, like:
2x VCO's with individual Pulse and Triangle outputs + PWM combined output, crossmodulation and 1V/Oct tracking. (And a separate CV / FM input with attenuator per VCO)
1x VCF with sweep and resonance, LowPass, HighPass, and BandPass outputs + switchable pre filter gain boost. (Normalled CV inputs from TriA and TriB with attenuators)
1x Rungholter Tanz Randomizer output, pre patched to VCO's + VCF with depth controls, also has 3x 5V Gate outputs, plus looping or infinite modes. (Now with inverted rungler output)
3x CV inputs with Depth Control (2x VCO + VCF). (Now has 5x CV inputs)
Internal Clock (VCO2) + 1x External Clock input.
External Audio input and Internal Audio disconnect (still working on killing the VCO bleed).
XOR input and XOR output.
Looping with loop offset control.
19x 3.5mm jacks (Now 22x jacks)
3x Super cool flashing LED's
So, what can you do with this thing? Well it's good for 2x VCO tracking 1V/Oct over 2 - 5 octaves, depending on calibration, both go from LFO rates up to ear piercing screeches. Also has a VCF that's normalled to the Oscillators as Audio or CV and accepts Ext input too. The Tri and Pulse outs of the VCOs can be used as modulation or clock sources. The rungler output can be used as a clocked semirandom CV source, as a proto sequencer, or as a clocked looping or random modulation source. The rungler Gate out can be used as 3x clocked random gates, or clocked 3x looping gates - perfect for random percussion. The VCO's are also normalled to the rungler and can be used as a CV source to change the pitch, or if it's being used as a clock it will de-linearize the time base. You can use it as a complex oscillator, or to make percussion sounds, squelchy filter synth, wild noise, phat mono or duo synths, sequence random percussion, crossmod the VCO's and maybe much many more stuff and things.
Power Requirements:
Eurorack power: 2x5 IDC
+12V 80mA
-12V 60mA
Depth = 30mm (with power plug)
This module originally followed Benjolin architecture. It's had an absolute ton of development and mods over the last few years, and will continue to be improved (filter bleed is next on the todo list). Credit to Rob Hordijk for the original design and inspiration.
